“Elle Du Jour’s Burlesque Floorwork class has given me a challenge, an outlet, and opportunity but mostly a gift. Since realizing I am a woman I’ve been dysphoric and insecure about a lot of things. Medically transitioning has helped but so too has Drag and Burlesque and Dance. While simultaneously remaking my body and face into something I can be happy with, these [practices] have helped me relearn how to exist within those things and use them to create something that is an honest expression of myself but also entertains people (which is all I’ve ever wanted to do in life).
